Amharc ar fhreagraI am reviewing a number of issues in relation to the establishment of the adventure activities standards authority, AASA, in light of the decision by the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources in 2003 that the safety services provided by the Department, in particular by the Irish Coast Guard, the Maritime Safety Directorate, and the Mercantile Marine Office should be brought together in a single agency which will be responsible for all elements of marine safety and emergency response services. I appreciate the significance of this matter and I expect to complete my review very shortly.
