170 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Transport if the new centre median safety barriers being installed on existing dual carriageways have been proved to be the last option for motor cyclists and their pillion passengers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13778/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraIt is a matter for the National Roads Authority, NRA, to ensure that motorways and dual carriageways are equipped with appropriate containment barriers in accordance with the NRA's design manual for roads and bridges. The NRA, as a matter of practice, keeps road design standards, including safety aspects, under regular review.
