192 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the measures she is taking under the CAP reform agreement to introduce an advisory package for farmers; the additional funding set aside for these proposals; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13885/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraUnder Article 13 of Council Regulation 1782/2003, which governs the operation of the single payment scheme, member states are obliged to set up a farm advisory system by 1 January 2007. The advisory system is to be operated by one or more designated authorities or by private bodies. Ireland already has a farm advisory system in place operated by both Teagasc and independent consultants.
