191 Mr. Connolly asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the number of persons who have applied to the Health Service Executive for repayment of charges for publicly funded long-term residential care; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14276/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Health Act 2004 provided for the Health Service Executive which was established on 1 January 2005. Under this Act, the executive has the responsibility to manage and deliver or arrange to be delivered on its behalf health and social services. This includes responsibility for the administration of the repayment of such charges. Accordingly, my Department has requested that the HSE make inquiries in this matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
