318 Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Transport if he will meet with a deputation from Monaghan County Council to hear their case for the reclassification of the Cremartin-Castleblayney road; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14200/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraA review of the national and regional road classification system as set out in Statutory Instrument 209 of 1994, Roads Act 1993 (Declaration of National Roads) Order 1994, and S.I. 400 of 1994, Roads Act 1993 (Declaration of Regional Roads) Order 1994, is currently under way. It is designed to update the statutory instruments to take account of road improvements and route changes since 1994. The classification of the Cremartin-Castleblayney road, inter alia, will be reviewed in the update. It is anticipated that the update will be concluded later on this year. In view of the foregoing, a meeting with a deputation from Monaghan County Council is not proposed.
