137 Mr. Curran asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the number of persons who were treated in the accident and emergency department of Tallaght hospital for March 2005, February 2005, January 2005, March 2004, February 2004, January 2004, March 2003, February 2003, January 2003, March 2002, February 2002 and January 2002. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Health Act 2004 provided for the Health Service Executive, which was established on 1 January 2005. Under the Act, the executive has the responsibility to manage and deliver, or arrange to be delivered on its behalf, health and personal social services.
Services at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, incorporating the National Children's Hospital, Tallaght, are provided under an arrangement with the executive. My Department has, therefore, requested the chief officer for the executive's eastern regional area to examine the issue raised and to reply to the Deputy directly.
