263 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of an application for persons regarding unification in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if a decision in the case will be expedited; and the timeframe involved. [15924/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe application in question sought to enable the wife and children of a person who has temporary leave to remain here until 5 March 2006 to join him in the State. Having given full consideration to the applications the visas were refused because the visa officer was not satisfied, on the basis of documentation supplied, that the applicants could be fully supported by the spouse in the State without the possible need to have recourse to public funds and resources. The applications were refused on 27 January 2005 and my Department notified the Department of Foreign Affairs the following day.
