244 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if financial aid will be available to a school (details supplied) in County Sligo; if her attention has been drawn to the huge concern that the school grounds need to be expanded; if sanction will be given for same; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraAn application for financial assistance towards the purchase of additional land has recently been received from the school in question and is being considered by my officials. The school has also applied for funding towards an extension and refurbishment at the school. As the existing school site is not owned by my Department, there are legal complexities to be considered before a decision is taken on how best to meet the school's accommodation needs for the future. My officials will be in contact with the school authorities in this regard in due course.
