190 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of the application for citizenship in the case of persons, details supplied, in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21785/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraApplications for certificates of naturalisation from the persons referred to by the Deputy were received in the citizenship section of my Department on 21 January 2005. The average processing time for such applications is currently 24 months. On the basis of the current average processing time, therefore, it is likely that the applications of the individuals concerned will be finalised in early 2007. I will inform the applicants and the Deputy when a decision has been made on the applications.
