Amharc ar fhreagraThe allocation of funding in respect of national roads improvement projects to local authorities is a matter for the National Roads Authority, NRA, under section 19(f) of the Roads Act 1993. I understand that investment in national roads in the BMW region up to end-2004 amounted to €1.134 billion — 70% of that forecast in the NDP — ESIOP. However, total expenditure on national roads in the BMW region in 2004 was €355 million, an increase of 90% on 2003. Moreover, of the ten national road scheme openings anticipated for 2005, seven are in the BMW region.
