443 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when an application for residency on the basis of marriage to an Irish national will be processed for a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26510/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe person in question made an application for permission to remain in the State based on marriage to an Irish national. A request for documentation to enable the further processing of the application was issued on 29 September 2005. It is expected that on receipt of the information requested the case will be finalised within a short time. However, it should be noted that marriage to an Irish national does not confer an automatic right of residence in the State.
