122 Mr. J. O’Keeffe asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the benefits available to schoolchildren attending second level schools under the school dentist scheme; and if such benefits will be available to children attending all second level schools. [27180/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Health Act 2004 provided for the Health Service Executive, which was established on 1 January 2005. Under the Act, the executive has the responsibility to manage and deliver, or arrange to be delivered on its behalf, health and personal social services. This includes responsibility for dental services. The HSE provides free dental examinations and limited treatment to children up to 16 years of age who attend or have attended a national primary school. Treatment is provided within the resources available to the HSE.
