The visa application in question was received on 11 August 2005 and refused by my Department. The visa application was refused for two reasons. First, the visa officer was not satisfied that a previous relationship history existed between the applicant and the reference in Ireland.

Second, financial information was not provided, therefore the visa officer could not be satisfied that there would be no recourse to public funds or resources.

An appeal of the decision to refuse the visa application was subsequently submitted on 6 September 2005. However, the visa appeals officer was unable to conclude that the initial decision should be overturned. Consequently, the application was refused on appeal on 27 September 2005. As each application is entitled to only one appeal, no further review can be facilitated.
