Amharc ar fhreagraThe EU Commission recently notified Ireland of its decision not to object to the proposed broadcasting funding scheme on the basis that it considers that the scheme is compatible with the relevant provisions of the EC treaty. I will now write to the chairman of the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland formally approving the scheme. This will allow the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland to launch the scheme and to invite applications.
