Amharc ar fhreagraEnvironmental Resources Management was engaged jointly in January 2001 by the then Department of Public Enterprise and the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to provide advice on public safety zones at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports. ERM reported in September 2003, and the Government, at its meeting on 19 January 2005, approved the drawing up of guidelines by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to be issued to local authorities regarding public safety zones at the three State airports. The Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government is currently preparing the guidelines. The total cost of the consultancy was €421,000.
