198 Mr. Neville asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the reason for the unavailability of a drug (details supplied) to treat B12 deficiency especially in the elderly; and when this drug will become available for dispensing by pharmacists. [33356/05]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe manufacturers of the product referred to by the Deputy have advised my Department that due to problems in the manufacturing process this particular product is temporarily unavailable both in Ireland and the UK. I have had inquiries made in the matter and I understand that there is an alternative product available in community pharmacies for people who have been prescribed the original product.
