The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.

160 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the reason an Alzheimer’s unit (details supplied) in County Donegal has not been opened and staffed in view of the fact that the building is complete and there was an understanding it would receive its first patients in the early part of 2006; and if she will make a statement on whether moneys had been approved in 2005 and 2006 for staffing of this unit.
