194 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of prosecutions that have been undertaken and the number of convictions that have been recorded under the Child Trafficking and Pornography (Amendment) Act 2004; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that no new offences were created by the introduction of the Child Trafficking and Pornography (Amendment) Act, 2004. Therefore, no prosecutions have been taken or convictions recorded for offences under the Act.
