Amharc ar fhreagraIn 2001 the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children in its report on Childhood Immunisation recommended that legislation be drawn up to provide for a National Vaccine Injury Compensation Scheme. The feasibility of introducing such a scheme is currently under examination in my Department. This process is at an advanced stage and is being given priority in the Department's 2006 business plan. My Department is in communication with the family referred to by the Deputy.
