245 Mr. Deenihan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position regarding the acquisition of a site for a new Garda station at Tralee, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30880/06]
Amharc ar fhreagraThere are plans to build a new Divisional Headquarters Garda station in Tralee, Co. Kerry. To this end, the Office of Public Works is currently engaged in the process of identifying a suitable site for the construction of the new station. Until the Office of Public Works have acquired a suitable site it is not possible for me to indicate a commencement date for construction. I can, however, assure the Deputy that there will be no avoidable delay in addressing the accommodation needs of the Gardaí in Tralee.
