261 Mr. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the most common cause for the adjournment of Court cases; the number of adjournments for such purposes in the past 12 months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31065/06]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware, under the Courts Service Act, 1998, the Courts Service is independent in the performance of its functions, which include the management of the courts and the provision of statistics. Statistics on adjournments are published in the Annual Reports of the Courts Service, which are available in the Oireachtas Library. The most recent such report is in respect of the year 2005.
