424 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Transport his views on the deficit of €329 million in the Aer Lingus pension fund; if he proposes to meet with Aer Lingus management to ascertain the reasons for the deficit; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30848/06]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe pension scheme in question is the Irish Airlines Superannuation Scheme. Issues relating to the scheme are matters for the trustees of the scheme, the companies involved and the scheme members to address having regard to the Trust Deed and the rules of the scheme. Furthermore, having regard to the fact that Aer Lingus is now a publicly listed company, it would not be appropriate for me to comment on the issue raised.
