188 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) was kept sitting in a chair in the accident and emergency section of the Mater Public Hospital, Dublin, on Monday 16 October, 2006, from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m. the following morning; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that this person was in the company of people who obviously were under the influence of alcohol; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
