The Arklow Main Drainage Scheme is approved for funding in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2005-2007 at an estimated cost of €15.9 million.

Further progress on the scheme will depend on the outcome of pleading High Court proceedings relating to the location of the proposed wastewater treatment plant.

Billy Timmins

Ceist:

437 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he has received an application from Wicklow County Council for a priority list of water and sewerage schemes; when same was received; the towns and villages on the list; the situation with respect to the provision of funding for these schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39610/06]

I am arranging to forward to the Deputy a copy of the list of water services schemes submitted by Wicklow County Council in July last in response to my Department's request to each local authority to undertake fresh assessments of the needs for capital water services works in their areas and to prioritise their proposals on the basis of the assessments. The priorities adopted by the members of Wicklow County Council will be taken into account in the next phase of my Department's Water Services Investment Programme.

438 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the reason the development of the Lough Mask regional water scheme extension from Srah to Westport and Westport to Louisburgh, including upgrading of treatment works at Lough Mask has not been sanctioned; if he will confirm the group schemes to be connected on to the Westport and Louisburgh section; the overall cost; when same will go ahead; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39625/06]

The extension of the Lough Mask Regional Water Supply Scheme from Shrah to Westport, the upgrading of the water treatment plant at Tourmakeady and the Louisburgh Water Supply Scheme are approved for funding in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2005-2007 at estimated costs of €12.99 million, €10.8 million and €5.41 million, respectively.

Mayo County Council's Contract Documents for the extension from Shrah to Westport and for the upgrading of the Tourmakeady treatment works, together with the Council's Design Review Report for the Louisburgh scheme, are being examined in my Department and are being dealt with as quickly as possible.

Details of the Group Water Schemes to be served by the new projects may be obtained from Mayo County Council.

The Kiltimagh Sewerage Scheme is approved for construction in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2005-2007.

Mayo County Council's Contract Documents for the scheme are being examined in my Department on foot of essential additional documentation, including a Certificate of Completion of Planning, received from the Council in March. A decision will be conveyed to the Council shortly.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 441 and 442 together.

I approved Galway County Council's tender recommendations for the extension of the Tuam Regional Water Supply Scheme to Shrule some time ago and I understand that the work is now underway.

Mayo County Council's contract documents for the Kilmaine and Shrule Water Supply Scheme, which will be served by the extension from the Tuam scheme, are under examination in my Department and are being dealt with as quickly as possible.
