I understand from Iarnród Éireann that a draft feasibility report will be available by year end to be considered by the project steering group at its next meeting in mid January.

Amharc ar fhreagraThe reopening of the Mullingar to Athlone rail line does not form part of the Transport 21 investment plan. A report prepared on behalf of the Midland Railway Action Group in relation to the re-opening of the Athlone to Mullingar railway line is currently being considered by my Department in conjunction with Iarnród Éireann. When my Department's assessment is complete I will respond fully to the report submitted by the Group.
