1594 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 340 of 14 December 2006, if the site has been acquired; when funding will be approved for the project; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1773/07]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Office of Public Works (OPW) are acting on behalf of my Department on the acquisition of the site in question which comprises two lots of land. The acquisition of the lands is not yet finalised, however, agreement has been reached with each of the landowners, subject to Contract. The OPW are still waiting for draft contracts from the landowner's solicitors. On completion of the site acquisition the project can be considered further in the context of the School Building and Modernisation Programme 2007 — 2013. Over €4.8 billion will be provided for school building infrastructure under the new NDP 2007-2013.
