Amharc ar fhreagraThere is no restriction in law in relation to the day of the week which may be specified as polling day for a general election. All relevant factors will be taken into account in the determination of the polling day for the next general election. The Electoral Act 1997 provides that students pursuing a course of study on a full-time basis at an educational institution in the State, who are registered at, but living away from, home and cannot attend their polling station, may apply for entry in the postal voters list.
