224 Deputy Joe Costello asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his proposals to shut down Mountjoy or Fitzgibbon Street Garda Stations in Dublin 1; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19558/07]
Amharc ar fhreagraIn accordance with section 22 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005, the formulation of proposals in relation to the opening and closing of Garda stations is a matter, in the first instance, for the Garda Commissioner in the context of the annual policing plan. I have been informed by the Garda authorities that there are no plans at present to close Mountjoy or Fitzgibbon Street Garda Stations.
