36 Deputy Billy Timmins asked the Minister for Transport the recent discussions he has had with the International Civil Aviator Organisation with respect to the regulation of aviation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29336/07]
Amharc ar fhreagraIreland is a contracting party to the Convention on International Civil Aviation (the Chicago Convention). Representatives from Ireland attend meetings and participate in various working groups within the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), which was established by the Convention, on an ongoing basis. Officials from my Department recently attended the triennial assembly of ICAO at which many aspects of the regulation of civil aviation were discussed.
