The selection process for juries where such are required by a coroner at an inquest is set out in section 43 of the 1962 Coroners Act. In the context of the reform of this Act, I would also draw the attention of the Deputy to the Coroners Bill 2007, which is currently awaiting Committee Stage debate in the Seanad and which contains provisions regarding jurors at inquests. The position insofar as Juries in the Courts is concerned it set out in the Juries Act, 1976.
