418 Deputy Brian Hayes asked the Minister for Education and Science if a review of the general allocation model for special education posts in primary schools has commenced; and if so, when she expects such a review to be complete. [10478/08]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware, the general allocation model was introduced in primary schools in September 2005 to ensure that each school has learning support/resource teaching support available to meet the needs of children with high incidence special educational needs. When the model commenced, a commitment was given to carry out a review after three years of operation. It is intended that this review will commence at the end of this three year period.
