169 Deputy Joanna Tuffy asked the Minister for Education and Science the steps she has taken to ensure that her Department in accordance with the requirement under the National Biodiversity Plan, has drawn up a biodiversity action plan; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13477/08]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government is currently co-ordinating the preparation of the new National Biodiversity Plan for Ireland, which will cover the period 2008-2012. My Department is represented on the Inter-Departmental Steering Group for the new plan. Following agreement on the Plan, consideration will be given to implementing any recommendations relevant to my Department.
