924 Deputy Michael Noonan asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he has received reports from the committees he established to advise him on the re-drawing of local authority electoral areas; if he has not, when he expects to receive the reports; if he will publish them forthwith; if the recommendations of the reports will be subject to amendment by himself and the Government; if he will give them statutory effect without amendment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. On 16 June 2008, I received the Reports of the two Boundary Committees I established last January to review local electoral areas. The Reports are being published today.

I am accepting the recommendations contained in both Reports and will be making the necessary orders to give effect to them in due course.
