729 Deputy Brian Hayes asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress made in relation to the development of a new information technology system for the vocational educational committee sector designed to support the changes in service levels to be introduced under the Student Support Bill 2008; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Irish Vocational Education Association (IVEA), following a selection process, has nominated City of Dublin VEC to take responsibility for the development and implementation of the new information technology system for the sector as a whole. The Department is currently considering the accountability and governance issues that will need to be addressed in that context and assessing the resource requirements in the context of the current fiscal framework.
