The threshold for disqualification is 12 points. I have received no recommendation from the Road Safety Authority to reduce this threshold.

Ceist:

126 Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Transport his views on recent proposals by a group (details supplied) in particular that safe interaction with cyclists should be a mandatory element in all driver instruction programmes and for regulations specifying minimum distances to be kept by drivers when overtaking cyclists. I will bear the group's views in mind in finalising a National Cycle Policy, which I intend to bring to Government before the end of the current year, and in developing an implementation programme.
