43 Deputy Emmet Stagg asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the amount paid out in compensation or legal costs arising from claims against members of the gardaí in respect of assault, illegal arrest and other reasons in respect of each year from 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
