222 Deputy David Stanton asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of staff with less than two years service on 1 March 2009 who gave notice to terminate their employment before 1 April 2009 under section 5 of the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act 2009; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Section 5 of the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act allowed for certain public servants to give one month's written notice to terminate their employment before 1 April 2009. No member of staff of my Department has given written notice of termination of their employment under Section 5 of the Act.
