201 Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Finance when he will extend the special Civil Service incentive career break scheme and shorter working year scheme to the public service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15627/09]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe special civil service incentive career break scheme and shorter working year scheme are initially being implemented for the civil service. Discussions have taken place at official level on wider application of these, or equivalent schemes, to other appropriate areas of the public service. It is a matter for the relevant Minister with responsibility for staff in those public service areas as to whether the extension of these schemes is appropriate in those areas.
