131 Deputy Pat Rabbitte asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position in relation to the provision of the community based closed circuit television system for an estate (details supplied) in County Tipperary; when funding will be released; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Community-based CCTV Scheme is designed to provide financial assistance to qualifying local organisations towards meeting the capital costs associated with the establishment of local community CCTV systems.
I am advised that the scheme for the provision of CCTV in the estate referred to by the Deputy is ready to proceed to contract stage and accordingly, a request for drawdown of funds has been made by Pobal who administer the scheme on behalf of my Department. This request is currently being processed.
