180 Deputy Leo Varadkar asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the average time, as of the end of April 2009, for payments to be made by his Department and each individual agency of his Department to outside businesses in respect of goods and services received; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe average time for payment to be made by agencies affiliated to my Department to outside contractors for goods and services is a matter for the agencies themselves. However, the Prompt Payment of Accounts Acts, apply to all Public Bodies and to contractors on public sector contracts. Insofar as the Department is concerned the average turnaround time for payments to outside businesses in respect of goods and services received is 9.48 days.
