190 Deputy Phil Hogan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the level of EU fines imposed on her Department for breaches of EU audit rules from 2003 to date in 2009; the reason for the fine in each instance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [34714/09]
Amharc ar fhreagraEU audit rules as set out in Regulations and guidance issued by the EU Commission from time to time are based on generally accepted audit practice and standards of the relevant auditing and accountancy bodies. Auditing in my Department is carried out in compliance with these requirements and the requirements of the Department of Finance. No fines have been imposed on my Department for breaches of EU audit rules from 2003 to date in 2009.
