381 Deputy Brian Hayes asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has recorded the number of hits on his Departmental website which come from persons who are interested in reading whole school evaluation reports which have been posted on the website; if such information has not been gathered; the way he will provide information as to the number of persons who read this information about individual schools on his Department’s website; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Monitoring software was installed on my Department's Website servers in January 2009 and this software records details of all visits to the Department's website from that date. I can confirm that information on site visitors accessing the School Inspection Reports search engine is recorded.

For the period May-June 2009, for example, over 6,200 unique site visitors accessed this search engine. In addition, to accessing School Inspection Reports via this search engine School Inspection reports can also be accessed from the website's home page.
