226 Deputy P. J. Sheehan asked the Minister for Health and Children if she is satisfied that a proper health service is available to hospital patients in the south-west Cork region in view of the case of a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if she will make a statement on the matter. It is Government policy that all persons should have access to safe, appropriate and user-friendly health services. I understand that a formal complaint has been made to the Health Service Executive on behalf of the patient concerned in the particular case raised, and that this is being investigated. The HSE will be in contact with the complainant as soon as it has completed its examination of the matter.
