400 Deputy Enda Kenny asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the amount of money awarded in telephone rental for each of the past five years; the number of eligible persons who avail of line rental for each of the past five years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The telephone allowance, administered under the household benefits package, provides assistance towards customers' landline or mobile phone costs. The current amount of the allowance is €26.00 per month.
