John Deasy
Ceist:140 Deputy John Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children if she has engaged in discussions with officials in the Department of Finance regarding the recommendation from the Commission on Taxation to reduce the tax relief that persons receive on paying for the care of an incapacitated person in their home; if she will highlight the importance of this relief in ensuring that older people remain in their home and the savings to the Exchequer that results from this relief avoiding the additional cost of residential care; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
