Amharc ar fhreagraThe lands owned by my Department at Templebreedy, Crosshaven comprise 37 acres and are no longer used for military purposes. Cork County Council recently added the structure of Fort Templebreedy to the Record of Protected Structures under Section 12(6) of the Planning and Development Act 2000. My Department had previous discussions with the Local Authority concerning the transfer of the property to it. In that regard my Department is obliged to obtain the market value of the property. However, the Local Authority had sought to acquire the property free of charge and discussions were concluded at that stage. Should the Local Authority now wish to purchase this property, it should contact my Department.
