280 Deputy Enda Kenny asked the Minister for Defence if he will confirm that the British security archives, commonly referred to as the Kilmainham papers, are under the control of his Department; if these papers are available to the public and to historians for research purposes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Defence Forces do not hold the documents referred to. I have made enquiries into the matter and I have been informed that the papers are held in the National Library, Kildare Street, Dublin 2 and are available for viewing.
