226 Deputy Frank Feighan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he plans to appoint an overseeing inspector for County Roscommon at locations in which schemes and plans are held up due to the lack of an approving officer and in view of the fact that farmers in a large area of the county are awaiting overdue payments; and if he will make the necessary appointment. As the Deputy will be aware there is a moratorium on recruitment and promotion in the public service. My Department has been making alternative arrangements to ensure the prompt processing of claims.
