18 Deputy Lucinda Creighton asked the Minister for Health and Children if she has commissioned reports or studies to look at the long-term health consequences of the decision to abolish the PRSI scheme for dental, optical and aural treatments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department has not commissioned any specific reports or studies to examine the long term health consequences, if any, of the decision by my colleague, the Minister for Social and Family Affairs, to curtail entitlements under the Treatments Benefits Schemes.
