Ceisteanna (68)

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

63 Deputy Eamon Gilmore asked the Minister for Health and Children the way the cap on the dental treatment services scheme will operate; if its implementation will mean that medical card holders who need dental treatment towards the end of the year may not be given it free of charge; and if she will make a statement on the matter. It has been decided to put a cash limit on the Dental Treatment Services Scheme this year, based on the expenditure incurred under the scheme in 2008. My Department has asked the Health Service Executive to examine the means of achieving this and I expect to receive their proposals shortly.
